So how did this food ASMR video come about? Well, lately, I’ve been working on my cooking videos. Recording, testing equipment, and learning how to edit them in iMovie. It’s taking longer than expected, but I hope to upload some instructional and cooking videos soon…so please stay tuned!

In the process of recording and editing these videos, I realized I was mesmerized by some of them. I thought, oh this is what all those food ASMR videos are about. Given the location of my mic and how I was preparing the ingredients for my dish, purely by accident, I created some mesmerizing ASMR cooking videos. Just for fun, I decided to edit one of these clips and upload to my YouTube channel.

What is ASMR?

Perhaps you might be asking, what is this ASMR stuff? Well, here is a short description…

ASMR is the term for the sensation people get when they watch stimulating videos or take part in other activities — usually ones that involve personal attention. Many people describe the feeling as “tingles” that run through the back of someone’s head and spine. Others say the feeling is deeply relaxing, and can even cause them to fall asleep.

Let me know what you think. If they are as mesmerizing for you, as they are for me, I have plenty more footage I can share…I’m going to upload an ASMR food video of me cutting and prepping onions as well. I might just make one video covering all the prep portions and cooking portions of the dish. Maybe I should make both recipe and ASMR food videos of each of the dishes I make. Haha!

Let’s see what people say about it. Check out the first attempt below. My ASMR food video of me cutting carrots in preparation of my favorite chicken, vegetable, curry dish.
